Report on Education

The University of Toledo Police Patrolman’s Association (UTPPA) members value the importance of higher education.  Twenty-five of the twenty-six members in our union have, at the minimum, obtained an associate degree.

Our union members have obtained a total of eighteen associate degrees and seventeen bachelor degrees.  Four officers are currently working on their bachelor’s degree.  Two members have their master’s degree and three are in the process of achieving one.

The twenty-six members in U.T.P.P.A. have completed thirty-six degrees in higher education.  Our members also have spent thousands of hours improving their skills through on the job training.  Officers have been and continue to be trained in all aspects of law enforcement and campus crime prevention.

It is the philosophy of our association that the best way to serve the university community is to have a well educated and well trained staff.   The following pages are a breakdown of the various degrees earned and a sample of training that our officers have attended.
